Saloon Brawl

This is one of the better flash games I've reviewed yet. Saloon Brawl is, as the title suggests, a brawling 3D Cowboy game.

Its a pretty standard brawl game, with a punch, grab, and block command. You progress through the levels knocking out all the enemies. The enemies will fight each other until you get near and then you pull agro. Each level you get stronger and stronger enemies, as expected.

Once you deal a certain amount of damage you can use your special, which is a shoryuken and then an AOE knock back attack. Its useful for clearing out enemies in tight spots and just wrecking shit.

The two items that drop are a sheriffs badge (which gives 200 pts) and a Jug of moonshine (which restores health).

Most of the environment is destructible and you can pick up and through almost everything, including people.

Good game, and worth the time.

Fireboy & Watergirl 3 in: The Ice Temple

Since the last two games I looked at have been shooters, I decided to change it up today and look at puzzle game today.

Fireboy and Watergirl (Originality is rich in game titles these days) is a very interesting game to say the least. You control two characters at the same time. Watergirl with the WASD keys and Fireboy with the Arrow Keys.

 Its a 2D platform puzzle game. Try saying that five times fast.

You have to maneuver Fireboy and Watergirl around the map over obstacles to collect gems and get yo their doors. Your score is based off the time it took you and how many gems you get. A simple enough concept if you were to use one character, but using two characters at once adds a whole extra element.

Really worth a try, if you're a masochist like me.

Ricochet Kills 2

Ever feel like pulling some Wanted Style killing and slaying multiple enemies with one bullet, then Ricochet Kills 2 is the game for you.

All good flash games have more than 20 levels, this is just an unspoken rule. RK2 delivers with 50 levels and a level editor if you are the creative type. The main premise of the game is to kill as many NPCs as you can with the least amount of bullets. These bullets ricochet off of the environment for a certain length of time until they despawn. Like all puzzle games you have use the destructible environment (like tnt and explosive barrels) to manipulate and win.

Its a good game with a decent amount of playablity. It will definitely  keep you entertained for a few coffee breaks.

GunBlood - Western Shootout

This being the first post on this site I thought that I'd give a bit of a rundown on what I plan on Doing here.

Monday, Thursday, and Saturday I will review a flash game and give my impression of the game and in the future I may include a video of my commentary over the game play. But for now lets look at this game. GunBlood - Western Shootout

GunBlood - Western Shootout is a side view shooter game in the style of Bowman and AppleShooter. The game itself is less than a 5 minute play (that's if you don't die a bunch like I did.)

The controls are simple, point and click. You have to have your cursor over the revolver in the lower left corner before the match will start, to simulate some kind of quick draw idea.

 You go through 10 rounds of fights with the AI and a few bonus rounds. As expected the AI gets a little better each time, but not smarter. As you prgress the only thing the AI seems to do different is shot faster, which really doesnt do much. Yiou have a very good chance of surviving the onslaught and then just picking the AI off with on good shot when they are standing there out of bullets.

All in all, not a bad game. Good to play if you want to burn time, but no real replay value.
